Context: Data availability and accuracy is central to enable comprehensive analysis and develop accurate key performance indicators globally. Chanel has deployed a Global Location Master as a strategic source of this data. It’s a cross divisional & regional solution providing Location data to support business needs of variety of areas such as enhancing client experience, enabling efficient use of boutiques space, Point-of-Sales, Sustainability reporting etc. The demand for this data as well as new features continues to evolve.
Role holder will act as day-to-day project manager, meeting needs of consumers of Location Master. She/he will also be a part of Chanel’s Data Governance organisation and contributing to wider objectives. She/He will report the programme lead.
Overview of the role:
You’ll join a team that is responsible for delivering continuous enhancements and maintaining existing Location Master Data Management (MDM) Solutions. As a senior member of this team, you’ll help build, develop, and grow relationships with stakeholders.
- Deliver on vision of location master data set by the programme lead including directing and supporting offshore resources in delivering the project plan in a timely manner
- Contribute to development of future roadmap
- Educate on the potential use of Location data for their function to enhance performance
- Promote effective use of Location Master data and solutions
- Manage existing business process and develop new ones needed to meet the needs of Location Data consumers.
- Maintain project documentation for training, usage and decision making.
- Manage stakeholder communication via established forums such as Working Groups etc. resolving dependencies and balancing expectations.
Focus areas of impact:
- Capture, refine and document new business requirements, including leading Business workshops
- Provide functional design
- Provide thought leadership on process best practice and build consensus across multiple stakeholders
- Generate effective solutions and support prioritisation for value-driven enhancements
- Influence senior stakeholders to reach sensible practical decisions and act as a ‘translator’ between technical teams and the business
- Review and approve designs with Data Architecture and IT delivery teams
- Define UAT strategy and explain/agree with business stakeholders
- Define and/or review the test plans and create detailed test cases.
- Perform the QA/Testing
- Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential risks, and propose contingency plans
- Develop and execute Change Management strategy, including onboarding and training of new stakeholder/systems
- Provide business support for maintenance of MDM solution

- Strong experience of developing data flow and conceptual/logical data models
- Strong understanding of risk management practices
- Demonstrable knowledge of Reference or Master Data Management (ideally Reltio)
- Ability to analyse and manipulate data
- Ability to build consensus across multiple stakeholders
