Senior Lighting Designer

Overview

Lighting Designer opportunity with a London-based lighting manufacturer. Hybrid working available: 2 days per week from home and 3 days per week in the office. Basic salary up to £48,000, with attractive benefits on top.

Responsibilities

• As Senior Lighting Designer you’ll work in a small internal team with 4 others, on lighting projects used in the retail sector.
• Projects could range from a one-off fast food establishment to major high street fashion retailers, supermarkets, car showrooms, coffee shops, and jewellery stores on one-offs or rollout programmes.
• Involve initial concept development with the client or their in-house design team, reviewing lighting plans including full scheduling, lighting calculations, and discussing client requirements and options; attend site and client meetings and, on occasion, some final onsite commissioning.
• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Architects, Interior Designers and engineers to develop lighting concepts, highlighting aesthetic and energy-efficient qualities of the client’s lighting solutions.
• Work on a broad variety of projects to provide ongoing interest for the Senior Lighting Designer.
• Hybrid role: 2 days per week from home and 3 days per week in the office.
• Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm and Friday 8:30am–4:30pm.

The Successful Candidate

• Ideally 5+ years of Lighting Design experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
• Ideally a Bachelor’s Degree in Lighting Design, Architecture or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
• Thrive under pressure with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Dialux Evo and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Revit & SketchUp would be preferable but not essential; excellent training is provided.

The Remuneration

• £40,000–£48,000 basic salary, dependent on experience.
