  • THE ROLE;
  • As Procurement Manager, you will oversee a small team of buyers, where you'll be setting the strategic approach regarding the end to end management of the flow of goods, from sourcing raw materials and finished products to delivery.
  • You'll develop supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, monitor stock and the performance of each product purchased.
  • As Procurement Manager you'll identify market trends, look at cost savings, set payment terms and rebates, identify and onboard new suppliers where better deals can be had, support ethical sourcing initiatives and lead and develop your purchasing team.
  • You will monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishments and liaise with your colleagues in operations, production, sales and finance to forecast purchasing requirements.
  • You will minimise supply chain disruption risks.
  • -THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE;
  • The successful Procurement Manager will be a good negotiator, commercially aware, analytical, organised with good people management skills.
  • You'll have a strong understanding of Supply chain management and inventory management with good experience with suppliers, ideally in the construction/building industry or manufacturing, roofing or industrial sectors.
  • CIPS Qualification would be preferable and as you'll also be negotiating with European suppliers, multi-lingual skills would be excellent.
  • Ideally, you'll also have experience with ERP/MRP purchasing systems.
  • THE COMPANY;
  • Our client is a family owned manufacturer and supplier of building materials, such as timber, rooflights, fixings, drainage, roofing, rainwater goods, composite panels, steel sections etc, with a multi-million pounds turnover and exciting expansion plans.
  • THE REMUNERATION;
  • £40,000- £45,000 Basic salary (dependent on experience).
  • Bonus scheme that could be thousands, dependent on cost savings and efficiency targets.
  • 26 days holiday, plus Bank holidays.
