The Senior Data Science Manager will lead a team to define and create datasets for modeling biological systems at a molecular level, collaborating with various teams to generate and utilize data effectively. This role involves managing a team of data scientists working on high-quality, standardized datasets for AI modeling, with a focus on biological data including imaging and sequencing modalities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Team management, data product delivery, and fostering collaboration across disciplines to support AI research and public data resources.
  • Manage data science teams creating biological datasets for AI modeling.
  • Hire experts in imaging, sequencing, and mass spectrometry.
  • Implement systems for agile data generation and processing.
  • Identify new data opportunities and oversee their delivery.
  • Coordinate with ML engineers, AI researchers, and data engineers to produce and publish datasets.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 10+ years experience with biological data, including imaging and sequencing.
  • Proven track record with large data products involving sequencing and imaging.
  • 5+ years managing hybrid/remote teams.
  • Expertise in big data processing, statistical reasoning, and machine learning.
  • Experience with image and sequence data analysis and QC.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and orchestration tools.
  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Compensation: The Redwood City, CA base pay range is $241,000 - $362,000, with adjustments based on location and experience.
