Your main responsibility will be assisting the Head Chef in managing and running the kitchen, ensuring your team stays motivated and all food is prepared to the highest standards.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Supporting menu development and design, considering the nutritional requirements of Champneys healthy eating cuisine.
- Assisting the Head Chef in recruiting, managing, training, and evaluating kitchen staff to meet Champneys\’ high standards.
- Taking responsibility for managing and running the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, including supervising staff.
- Updating the People System regarding staff hours and completing rotas as instructed.
- Preparing and presenting buffets and menu items.
- Maintaining and improving service standards and operating procedures to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Gaining knowledge of the Champneys healthy eating philosophy and ensuring staff are trained accordingly.
- Maintaining high cleanliness standards in the kitchen to comply with legislative requirements.
- Ordering food supplies, checking prices, quality, and quantity, and ensuring the use of nominated suppliers.
- Controlling departmental food costs and minimizing wastage.
