As Chief Engineer, you will have overall responsibility for the engineering, maintenance, and statutory compliance of two Champneys hotel properties. You will ensure that all buildings, plant, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, presentation, and guest comfort, while operating in a cost-effective and sustainable manner. This hands-on leadership role manages contractors, projects, health and safety requirements, and environmental standards, while leading and developing maintenance teams across both sites. The role also includes responsibility for budgeting, record-keeping, and ensuring all maintenance operations meet legal, safety, and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Proven experience as a Chief Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Facilities Manager within a hotel, resort, spa, or complex hospitality environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems, pools and spa plant, HVAC, fire systems, and building fabric.
- Sound working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, contractors, and multi-site operations.
- Strong organisational, budgeting, and reporting skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexibly across two locations as required.
