The predicted salary is between 25650 - 31350 £ per year.

We are looking for a Chemist to join our Analytical team in Aberdeen, UK on a temporary 12 month basis. The candidate will be responsible for conducting water analysis, including scaling ions and scale inhibitor residuals, and will provide analytical support to the various product line groups within the wider Eastern Hemisphere RD&E team.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct water analysis testing using a variety of analytical techniques, including ICP, IC and HPLC.
  • Support senior team members with project-focused work and development of new test methodologies.
  • Provide support to Goods In, with focus on logging of received samples and materials.
  • Technical report writing and database management.
  • Learn about ChampionX product lines and their various applications.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of laboratory.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to support efficient laboratory operations.
  • Implement and follow Company safety practices, including COSHH and Risk Assessments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc.) in Chemistry or related science.
  • Good computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a high-performing team.

Physical Demands:

May involve long periods of standing working in a laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Previous experience in liquid chromatography.
  • Readily learns and adapts to changing workload.
  • Willing to take on unfamiliar tasks and learn from experiences.
