Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role located at our branch in Sutton. As a Yard Sales Assistant, your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include assisting customers with their timber and building material requirements, maintaining and organising the timber yard, and ensuring the correct stock is available for customer orders. Additional duties may include loading/unloading deliveries, providing guidance to customers on our products, and working as part of a team to maintain the highest standards of customer service and safety.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset
- Experience in handling and managing stock, including loading and unloading goods
- Ability to work in a team, ensuring a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Basic understanding of timber products and building materials (training will be provided)
- Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organised workspace
- Previous experience in a similar role or within the timber/building materials industry is advantageous
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one is preferred
