Role Description

The Grill Chef is a full-time, on-site role based in Falkirk, responsible for preparing and cooking grilled meats, fish, and other menu items to established quality and presentation standards. Day-to-day tasks include managing the grill station, monitoring cooking times and temperatures, and ensuring dishes are served promptly and consistently. The role involves coordinating with kitchen colleagues, maintaining a clean and safe work area, following food safety and hygiene procedures, and assisting with stock rotation and inventory for grill-related ingredients. The Grill Chef also contributes to menu execution, supports special events or busy service periods, and collaborates with the wider team to deliver a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a grill chef, line cook, or in a similar professional kitchen role, with strong knowledge of grilling techniques and meat cookery.
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and safe kitchen practices, including proper food storage and handling.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple orders, and maintain high standards under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working alongside chefs, servers, and other kitchen staff.
  • Attention to detail in plating, portion control, and consistency of dishes, with a commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in line with restaurant service requirements.
  • Formal culinary training or relevant professional qualifications are beneficial but not essential; prior experience in a grill-focused or steakhouse-style kitchen is an advantage.
