Job Description

Are you an ambitious HR Advisor feeling boxed in by endless

admin, or looking for a role with a genuine, visible pathway to

Junior HRBP? If you’re ready to step up into a role where your

advice carries real weight and where your development is actively

backed from day one, this could be the ideal next step for your

career. We are working with a leading infrastructure services

business to recruit a Regional HR Advisor to partner closely with

operational leadership across the West Midlands and surrounding

region.

Permanent

Up to £37,500 + EV Car or Car Allowance

Regional – West Midlands and surrounding

Hybrid / Multi-site – 3:2

Reporting into the HRBP and sitting within a collaborative

divisional team that supports c250 employees, this role offers a

clear balance of operational grit and strategic people planning.

Roughly two thirds of your focus will be dedicated to management

support and end-to-end employee relations casework—acting as the

primary trusted advisor to managers and operational leaders

across front-line and support teams. You’ll handle conduct,

grievance, performance, and absence cases from intake to

resolution, planning and conducting thorough investigations while

proactively managing people risk. Crucially, the remaining third

of your time will see you step away from reactive ER to partner

on talent planning, engagement initiatives, succession mapping,

and management capability building.

While you will operate closely within a focused, agile business

unit team, you have the backing of a much wider corporate HR

function, including central shared services and centres of

excellence for L&D and talent. The Head of HR has embedded a

strong culture of internal development across the team, making

this a prime post for rapid progression—previous postholders have

successfully stepped up into Junior HRBP positions based on

impact and output.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an outgoing, credible HR Advisor or Employee

Relations Specialist with solid experience managing casework and

a strong, practical grasp of UK employment law. You should be

someone who genuinely enjoys being out in the business, building

trusting relationships with operational managers, and coaching

leaders rather than just policing process. You will need strong

communication and investigative skills, the ability to balance

multiple priorities across a regional footprint, and a

commercial, pragmatic approach to resolving issues. I
