We are working with a highly respected professional services firm that delivers at a level to give them a leading market reputation, while not compromising on their commitment to creating a working environment that works. They are known for being strong on the work-life balance front and offer a collaborative environment where autonomy is the norm.
In this role you'll take HR partnering ownership of a high performance, revenue-generating client group, get to impactful partnering work and, hopefully, become a brand advocate.
- Up to £57,000 + Bonus
- Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, or Edinburgh
- Hybrid 3:2 (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)
- 12 Month+ Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Reporting to a supportive Senior HRBP, this 12-month maternity cover perfectly balances local strategy delivery with proactive, tactical intervention. You will become the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a sophisticated regional leadership team, raising the profile of the people function by delivering a pro-active, solution-focused service across the group. You will look at the region through a broad operational lens, ensuring that compliance and risk management are watertight while acting as a credible sounding board for senior stakeholders.
The role will see you take full ownership of the regional HR agenda, driving employee engagement and navigating a heavy focus on talent planning, promotion pipelines, and career mapping. You will lead on annual performance and salary reviews, ensuring fairness and consistency while coaching managers to be fair, measured and motivating leaders. From managing core ER cases and sickness absence to partnering with specialist central teams for recruitment and early talent, your days will be varied and fast-paced. The real test here will be confidently dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity within a complex structure, without losing focus on what needs to be achieved.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a credible HR Generalist with experience operating at a partnering or manager level, capable of evidencing strong stakeholder engagement skills. While experience within a professional services environment is preferable, we would also welcome applications from individuals who have partnered with head office or corporate functions client groups within large businesses. You should be a decisive individual with a strong commercial mindset—someone who can keep things moving but also keep stakeholders on track for the right things that will deliver commercial outcomes. If you have a calm professional manner, a good sense of humour, and the resilience to navigate a high-profile stakeholder group with confidence, we need to hear from you.
