We are looking for Research Analysts in London to join our US research team, which works North America-facing hours from 12pm-8.30pm each day.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- The North America research team will focus exclusively on US and Canada research, both for the main and Spotlight Guides, with particular emphasis on West Coast and Nationwide areas of research.
- As a Research Analyst, you'll be at the forefront of shaping our renowned Chambers research process.
- Your adept interviewing skills will be instrumental in gathering invaluable insights from clients and lawyers, enriching our comprehensive analysis of interviews and submissions.
- Your keen attention to detail will ensure the accuracy of our ranking tables, while your knack for crafting engaging editorials will showcase the strengths of various law firms.
- Your role will also involve diving into assigned practice areas and jurisdictions, where you'll meticulously gather factual information from law firm submissions, deal reports, and business press.
- Taking ownership of your assigned sections, you'll identify and interview key clients and lawyers, ensuring the depth and quality of our research.
- Regular collaboration with your Research Manager will be key in sharing your findings and insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Background research to understand their assigned practice areas and jurisdictions.
- With the support of the Research Manager, determining which lawyers to contact for interview.
- Conducting probing interviews with lawyers, asking open-ended questions.
- Interviewing in-house counsel and other third-party experts by telephone or via an online questionnaire.
- Accurately logging communications and continually assessing progression of their research.
- Pursuing research leads gained via materials provided by the Chambers team, or through their own research.
- Building an understanding of, and relationships with, the key market participants.
- Analysing the data collected during the research phase to create accurate and impartial ranking tables that reflect the market.
- Producing an informative, business-focused editorial for the Chambers website and our guides.

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:
- Degree educated with an interest or experience in conducting research and analysis of the North American market.
- Comfortable speaking on the phone to people from varying backgrounds.
- Strong writing skills, particularly the ability to write clearly and concisely.
- French language skills are beneficial.
- High attention to detail.
