Join our dynamic Asia Pacific research team as a Research Analyst as a Korean language speaker. At the heart of our process, Research Analysts play a pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape. Utilizing effective interview techniques, they glean invaluable insights from clients and lawyers, fueling our comprehensive research. From meticulous analysis to crafting insightful editorials, our analysts ensure accuracy and depth in every ranking table and firm overview.

As a Research Analyst, you will delve into assigned practice areas and jurisdictions, meticulously gathering information from diverse sources including submissions, deal reports, and the business press. Taking ownership of each section, you will collaborate closely with our Research Manager, driving excellence in every aspect of our research process.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research: Background research to understand assigned practice areas and jurisdictions. With the support of the Research Manager, determine which lawyers to contact for interviews. Conduct probing interviews with lawyers, asking open-ended questions. Interview in-house counsel and other third-party experts by telephone or via an online questionnaire. Accurately log communications and continually assess progression of research. Pursue research leads gained via materials provided by the Chambers team or through own research. Build an understanding of, and relationships with, key market participants.
  • Analysis: Analyse the data collected during the research phase to create accurate and impartial ranking tables that reflect the market. Develop an understanding of assigned jurisdictions/practice areas through interviews and desk research. Seek out and act upon new developments and opportunities for expansion in responsible areas. Assess both law firms and individual lawyers - their key strengths and weaknesses - to provide an accurate hierarchical ranking.
  • Editorial: Produce an informative, business-focused editorial for the Chambers website and print versions of our guides. Fully responsible for the comprehensive nature of this editorial e.g. ensure accuracy, respect the confidentiality of material handled. Identify what makes each firm different, and why it might appeal to a particular type of client. Understand the personalities and key strengths of leading lawyers within the profession. Work to editorial deadlines i.e. meet deadlines for research, ranking and editorial writing. Take ownership of the process i.e. proactively report any challenges faced when producing accurate and informative editorial. Write internal reports at the end of a research phase that are called upon to direct research in the future.
