We are looking for a well-rounded Senior Product Designer with a desire to join the Product Design team at Chambers and Partners, helping us differentiate the best legal talent when it really matters and improving the experience for Chambers' customers. Reporting into our Director of Experience Design, you will join our diverse product design team. You'll work day to day in a multidisciplinary product team, partnering with product managers, engineers, user research, data science and product marketing to help bring to market a new product to help us create more value for our customers as part of our transformation to become a leader in Data & Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifying and addressing problems to be solved, influencing the product vision through your understanding of user needs.
  • Designing simple, elegant but impactful end-to-end experiences that improve the way customers interact with Chambers and move business metrics.
  • Partnering with PMs, engineers, data teams, other designers and stakeholders across the company to deliver products and features from conception to launch - owning and leading the ideation, design and validation phases.
  • Communicating conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and rationales verbally and visually to a variety of audiences (team members, stakeholders, execs and company-wide).
  • Owning the success or failure of your design work, autonomously validating your design solutions qualitatively and quantitatively, measuring success and initiating improvements.
  • Constantly seeking and respectfully providing design feedback.
  • Exploring how to best represent insights and visualise data in a way that helps our audience understand the information, but also helps position our offering as an enabler of Data & Analytics.
  • Contributing to the growth of the product design function at Chambers by sharing knowledge, being a team player and a role model.
  • Actively helping to shape and evolve Chambers design system & overall design operations.

Skills & Experience

  • Capabilities across the product design spectrum - from Service Design to UX strategy, Information Architecture, UI design, Content Design and User Research.
  • Demonstrable experience working cross-functionally across the entire product development cycle, from ideation to implementation and iteration.
  • Identifying problems and opportunities, using quantitative and qualitative insights as well as customers and internal teams interviews to inform a problem space, prove or disprove hypotheses and evaluate user experience.
  • Facilitating the creation of a shared vision and approach for new product and features, creating alignment and driving projects to completion.
  • Comfortable communicating internally, up, out and down to gather feedback and onboard others in your design approach.
  • Contributed to the creation, maintenance and evolution of a design system.

About You

  • Self-aware and able to collaborate cross-functionally, caring to build trust and long-lasting relationships.
  • Motivated by goals and outcomes, staying focused on the big picture while giving care to the details when necessary.
  • Iterate quickly, seeking, uncovering and utilising data and user research to ensure you’re on the right path towards your goal.
  • Great communicator of design work and rationales, empathising with your audience and adapting your communication style to them.
  • Facilitator using different techniques to gather diverse viewpoints and requirements, collaboratively ideate and create alignment.
  • Always looking to improve yourself and lift up others around you.
  • Champion design thinking within your product team, the product design team and the broader organisation.
  • Humble and kind, unafraid to make mistakes and learn from them.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a data-led business creating impactful data-visualisations.
  • Familiarity with the legal industry.
  • Experience closely working with product marketing, marketing and brand teams.
