Overview
Join our dynamic team as we expand our presence in the Greater China Region. We are in search of a fluent Mandarin speaker to join our guide team.
Responsibilities
- Research
- Background research to understand assigned practice areas and jurisdictions.
- With support of the Research Manager, determine which lawyers to contact for interview.
- Conduct probing interviews with lawyers, asking open-ended questions.
- Interview in-house counsel and other third-party experts by telephone or online questionnaire.
- Accurately log communications and continually assess progression of research.
- Pursue research leads from materials provided by the Chambers team or own research.
- Build understanding and relationships with key market participants.
- Analyze data collected during research phase to create accurate and impartial ranking tables that reflect the market.
- Develop understanding of assigned jurisdictions/practice areas through interviews and desk research.
- Seek and act on new developments and opportunities for expansion within responsibilities.
- Assess law firms and individual lawyers – their strengths and weaknesses – to provide accurate hierarchical ranking.
- Produce informative, business-focused editorial for the Chambers website and print guides.
- Ensure comprehensive accuracy, confidentiality of handled material.
- Identify distinguishing features of each firm to appeal to specific client types.
- Understand personalities and strengths of leading lawyers.
- Meet editorial deadlines for research, ranking and writing.
- Take ownership of the process, proactively report challenges.
- Write internal reports at end of research phase to direct future research.
