About the Role

Reporting into the Financial Controller, our client is looking for an ambitious self-starter, working independently and as part of a team. The Finance Assistant will support the finance function in managing day-to-day financial operations and administration across multiple events. This role is ideal for a finance graduate looking to develop their skills in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. The role involves processing financial transactions, liaising with customers, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position reports directly to the Finance Manager and involves business partnering.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing customer and supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding against the budget and department
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of paid registration
  • Assist with reviewing staff and event-related expense claims
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Chasing aged debtors
  • Business partnering with the wider team including Sales and Operations to resolve queries

Qualifications

  • Finance graduate (desirable) or 1-2 years work experience within a similar role

Required Skills

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel & Word
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting software is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple event projects simultaneously
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently both at home and 2 days per week at our Tunbridge Wells office

Pay range and compensation package: £28,000-£30,000
