Senior Relationship Manager (Relationship Director) – Sustainable Property Finance
This is a remote role with access to our offices in Edinburgh, Bristol, and London as required.

The Opportunity – Purpose
- Launch and grow the Sustainable Property sector throughout the UK.
- Drive growth in business‑banking lending products by developing new and existing customer relationships.
- Shape and grow the Bank’s presence in BREEAM Excellent+ and EPC A+ development, as well as retrofitting residential and commercial investment properties for long‑term rental.
- Generate new lending enquiries, build a portfolio and manage complex, high‑risk credit proposals (typical up to £20 m) and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
- Support the Team Manager in developing markets for lending and occasionally deputise for them; participation in the UK credit committee is essential.
- Operate autonomously in a hybrid model (home/remote) while meeting client base requirements and accessing offices when needed.

We are seeking an experienced UK commercial lender with a strong track record in complex customer relationships, large‑scale lending, and driving positive change.
You should possess advanced credit skills, deep understanding of business financials, and a commitment to our values.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in commercial lending and portfolio management, including new business development.
- Proven success structuring and delivering complex lending up to £20 m.
- Advanced credit assessment skills with expertise in property investment and development, including complex deal structures.
- Strong understanding of business financials, risk factors, and credit portfolio management.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills; professional representation of the bank.
- Ability to manage complex workflows and progress lending proposals efficiently.
- Strong risk‑management knowledge: KYC, CDD, conduct risk.
- Communicative, analytical, and numerical proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Relevant professional qualification (e. g., Chartered Institute of Banking) desirable.
