Position Statement: The main purpose of the Sales Executive role is to maximize new business opportunities for Hilton Glasgow whilst driving revenue opportunities from all commercial departments. You will have a key focus on our Individual Business Travel (IBT) & our Local Scottish market. You will develop strategies and activities to retain and grow our business across assigned sales-influenced segments and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities whilst creating strong relationships with existing customers. You will also be responsible for creating & implementing an effective sales plan to support the achievement of the overall hotel budget and be a valued team player within our commercial team.

Position Summary:

  • Account Management of assigned IBT partners, including UK & International corporate clients & TMCs, whilst seeking out new opportunities to drive revenue.
  • Answer customer queries in a prompt and professional manner; build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs.
  • Analysis of market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads including hotelligence and local area mapping.
  • Showcase the hotel through innovative site inspections, sales events and familiarization trips.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts in accordance with current business & pricing needs.
  • Produce accurate and timely reports and presentations that meet the needs of the Sales Director and senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for TMC networking & development of un-managed TMC relationships utilizing H360.
  • Identify key customer opportunities and build a plan to deliver a rate premium above fair market share.
  • Position the hotel to the market with a focus on new business development.
  • Maintain existing client base whilst growing our share of the business.
  • Drive conversion of direct enquiries.
  • Create & coordinate prospecting and sales blitzes.
  • Create & coordinate Bring Back Old Business blitzes.
  • Review all segments to identify any un-explored opportunities across all market segments with a heightened focus on Aircrew, Corporate & Group.
  • Continually audit our business mix to ensure we have the right business segments to deliver exceptional results.
  • Attend and participate in sales initiatives, customer appointments & tradeshows as required, sharing the story of the Hilton Glasgow and drive business into the hotel.
  • A proactive networker with a focus on building and developing local contacts.
  • Participate in commercial meetings and contribute to commercial strategies and actions related to IBT, social & business events within the Scottish Market.

Measurement (Target): Sales Incentive Plan target for Sales Manager, Hotel performance to budget, Sales Influenced Segments, Individual performance, IBT/MICE targets as agreed by DOS / Commercial Manager.

  • GCSE (or equivalent) certificate (minimum requirement).
  • Some clerical/administrative experience or similar.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sales Force.
