Chalk Hill Group are supporting an established distribution business, based near Gatwick, who are looking to appoint an experienced Fractional Finance Director on an initial 3–6 month contract. This is a hands-on finance leadership role, ideal for an experienced FD or strong FC who enjoys being close to the detail and making a tangible impact. Working around two days per week, you will take responsibility for a range of core finance activities, including:

  • Financial reporting and management information
  • Strengthening financial controls and processes
  • Cash flow forecasting and management
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Supporting the wider finance function and improving efficiencies
  • Mentoring and developing a more junior member of the finance team
  • Providing hands-on financial leadership and support to the business

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Finance Director, Financial Controller or similar
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, SME environment
  • Experience in Distribution or Logistics sector
  • Strong technically, with solid reporting, controls and cash flow experience
  • Practical and solutions-focused, with a track record of improving processes
  • Confident mentoring and supporting junior finance staff
  • Available to work around 2 days per week onsite near Gatwick
