Chalk Hill Group are working exclusively with a fast-paced and dynamic SME, based in Basildon, who are seeking a proactive Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day finance function on an initial 3-6 month basis. For the right individual, there is a realistic opportunity for the role to become permanent, as well as play a lead role in an ERP implementation in the future.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening controls and processes, managing cashflow and working capital, and providing clear financial insight to support decision-making and growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop the finance team
- Own monthly close and Group reporting
- Deliver accurate management accounts and performance analysis
- Manage cashflow, balance sheet control and working capital
- Improve financial controls, systems and processes
- Oversee audit, statutory accounts, VAT and Intrastat compliance
- Support strategic growth and performance initiatives
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) but those that are QBE with the right experience will also be considered
- Strong financial control and reporting background
- Staff-management and development experience critical
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems knowledge
- Proactive, detail-oriented and solutions focused
- Experienced in improving processes and driving efficiencies
Hybrid working - 3 days per week in the office, 2 days per week from home.
PACKAGE: £65,000 - £75,000 + BENEFITS (or equivalent day rate)
