Chalk Hill Group are partnering exclusively with an internationally operating SME, based in Winchester, in their search for a Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take full ownership of the finance function within an established and growing business.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be given a broad remit covering everything from day-to-day accounting and management accounts through to cash flow, VAT, payroll, year-end, statutory reporting and financial planning. With operations across the globe, there's also an international element to the role, including intercompany accounting.
What you'll be doing:
- Taking ownership of the full finance function
- Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Managing cash flow, credit control, VAT, payroll and reconciliations
- Overseeing year-end accounts, audit and statutory compliance
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning
- Managing intercompany accounting across the group
- Improving finance processes, controls and systems
- Acting as a trusted business partner to the CEO
Your background will ideally include:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4 or through substantial relevant experience
- Proven experience managing a broad SME finance function
- Strong technical accounting and management accounts experience
- Good knowledge of UK VAT, PAYE and statutory requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- The confidence to work autonomously and challenge where appropriate
- Savvy with financial systems, particularly Xero
- Strong communication skills with both finance and non-finance colleagues
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Financial Controller to take real ownership of finance, have direct access to the CEO and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the business. This role will be office based in Winchester, Hampshire.
