We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and proactive HGV driver to join the team at our busy Chalford branch. The main duties include delivery of building materials to the local area, maintaining the Company's vehicles to a good standard, aiding the yard operatives in the loading and unloading of vehicles, and serving customers.

Requirements:

  • 2 Years held Full Cat C Licence essential
  • Full CPC and Driver Tachograph Card essential
  • HIAB Licence advantageous but not required
  • Experience in delivering and local knowledge desirable
  • Work as part of a team

Hours:

  • Basic 45 hours Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 16:30
  • Saturday mornings on rota from 07:00 to 12:00

Main Tasks:

  • Delivery of building materials to surrounding area
  • Ensure high level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Completion of branch and vehicle paperwork including daily walk around checks
  • Ensuring that vehicles are kept clean, tidy and maintained to the standards laid down by the Road Transport / Traffic Legislation
  • Communicate with managers to co-ordinate delivery routes, remaining flexible in order to restructure schedules if needed
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles both with manual handling and mechanical loading equipment
  • Comply to Company's policies and procedures regarding driving regulations and Tachograph Law
  • Follow guidance regarding safe loading and load security
  • Assist Yard Operatives in maintaining high standards of general housekeeping and service of customers

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £31,500.00-£33,000.00 per year
