We are looking for a Sourcing Expert in Travel Services to join us on a short-term engagement of approximately 4 months as a maternity leave backfill. We are open to candidates based in Jersey City, Zurich, Geneva, or London. This position is critical in delivering value-added sourcing services to our clients in a structured, consistent, and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing initiatives for travel services, including air, hotels, meetings, car services, corporate payment cards, and travel technology toolsβboth globally and domestically.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on supplier travel offerings, particularly across the Americas and global markets.
- Support the lead global travel sourcer in managing strategic procurement projects of varying scope and scale.
- Conduct market tenders and evaluate bid proposals in collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive supplier selection.
- Understand client business requirements and structure deals to meet those needs effectively.
- Negotiate contracts to achieve optimal commercial terms and draft agreements based on standard templates.
- Guide clients and key stakeholders through project timelines, deliverables, and sourcing best practices.
- Establish and implement travel consortia strategies in coordination with Category Managers, Global Sourcing Leads, and regional sourcing experts.
- Maintain awareness of travel industry trends and contribute to sourcing strategy and business development efforts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners, suppliers, and multiple client groups.
- Ensure adherence to Chain IQ\βs corporate standards by using defined sourcing tools and processes throughout all procurement activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor\βs degree required; a degree in Supply Chain Management or an MBA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in procurement, with a strong focus on marketing categories.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-million-dollar sourcing initiatives.
- Solid understanding of contract structures and the ability to draft contracts with minimal legal oversight.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, including pivot tables, and the ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentations.
- Strong client and stakeholder focus, with the confidence and presence to engage and influence senior leadership.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with leading sourcing tools and procurement systems.
- Collaborative, motivated, and adaptable team player with a proactive approach.
