We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Expert to drive sourcing initiatives for Market Data Services (MDS) within a major client organization. This is a senior, visible role requiring a strategic, proactive, and credible professional with relationship and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep sourcing experience, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to build and manage trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. They will deliver on critical sourcing objectives across a wide range of MDS categories including terminals, data, ratings, indices, and exchanges.
Responsibilities
- Work on client site, ensuring high-quality delivery against agreed targets while fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and positivity.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and understanding their business drivers and sourcing requirements.
- Shape and execute complex sourcing strategies, negotiating optimal commercial terms tailored to the client's evolving needs.
- Own and drive MDS initiatives across diverse scopes, ensuring alignment with client objectives and delivering tangible business value.
- Build and present tailored sourcing solutions that demonstrate commercial insight and strategic alignment.
- Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors, ensuring beneficial terms and ongoing compliance with licensing and usage rights.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices in contract management, vendor engagement, and regulatory considerations.
- Monitor market developments and vendor capabilities to identify innovation opportunities and potential displacements.
- Implement demand management strategies to optimize spend, improve operational efficiency, and reduce cost.
- Deliver accurate reporting and analysis to support financial planning, decision-making, and performance tracking.
- Ensure consistent use of corporate standards, sourcing tools, and governance frameworks in all sourcing initiatives.
Your Profile
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of 8 years’ end-to-end experience in Market Data Services sourcing
- Extensive experience working with MDS vendors and managing complex vendor relationships and agreements
- Proven success in developing and executing category strategies
