Support sessions. Guide colleagues. Keep our pool safe and welcoming. We’re looking for an experienced and confident aquatics professional to join us as Aquatics Therapy Supervisor. In this hands‑on role, you’ll help coordinate the day‑to‑day running of our hydrotherapy pool, deliver therapy sessions, and ensure every child and young person has a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience in the water. You’ll work closely with the Aquatics Therapy Manager, supporting our Aquatics Therapy Assistants and Education Assistants, and working alongside physiotherapists, teachers, and nursing colleagues to provide the highest standards of care and safety.
Location: North Chailey, BN8 4EF
Salary: £28,210 - £28,999 (DOE)
Hours: 37 per week | Shifts between 8am–8pm | Weekend rota
What you’ll be doing:
- Helping to coordinate daily aquatic therapy sessions in line with our therapy curriculum.
- Supporting children and young people with complex disabilities in the water.
- Offering guidance to assistants during sessions to ensure good practice.
- Monitoring outcomes and maintaining accurate progress records.
- Supporting pool safety, water quality, and operational standards.
- Making decisions about pool closures when required.
- Providing excellent service to external users of the pool.
What we’re looking for:
- ASA/STA Level 2 in Teaching Aquatics.
- A confident swimmer able to meet National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) standards.
- Experience in a supervisory or senior role in aquatics, leisure, or therapy.
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Calm, supportive, and able to encourage others.
Bonus if you also have:
- NPLQ certification (training can be provided).
- Pool Plant Operations Certificate.
- Experience supporting people with disabilities or complex needs.
- Knowledge of hydrotherapy or adapted physical activity.
