Job Description
As an Oriental Chef, you are responsible for the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standards and qualities. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:
- Show your culinary prowess by preparing authentic and delicious dishes every day.
- Prepare all kinds of food, with the main focus on Oriental cuisine.
- Create high quality and original oriental food to satisfy the customer.
- Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in daily preparation and keep up to date with new Oriental recipes and preparation techniques.
- Coordinate and participate with other sections regarding requirements, cleanliness, wastage, and cost control.
- Constantly be alert on freshness, presentations, and temperature of food served in the restaurant.
Job Requirement:
- 8 years plus experience in Pakistani style Chinese, Thai, and Korean cuisines with proven culinary skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Creative mindset and innovative approach to dish development.
- Expert in managing inventory and cost of goods.
- Expert working in a hands-on, fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Expert in mentoring and training team members.
- Must be able to stand and walk for periods of eight to ten hours in length each shift.
- Must be able to reach, bend, balance, and transport various objects weighing up to 30 lbs. repeatedly during a shift.
- Must be able to work around various levels of temperature, including warm to very warm temperatures in the kitchen.
Preferences:
- Experience in Pakistani style Oriental cuisines.
- Bilingual in English and Urdu/Hindi.
- Experience working in upscale high-paced dining.
- Experience working in a restaurant chain or franchise with established processes, systems, and accustomed to corporate structure and protocols.
