We’re looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team based at our Cambridge depot on a one year fixed term contract (there is possibility for this to become a permanent role depending on tender outcomes).

You’ll support the commercial management of contracts, helping us understand project costs, prepare valuations and forecasts, manage suppliers and keep projects commercially on track. You’ll support the commercial management of contracts, helping us understand project costs, prepare valuations and forecasts, manage suppliers and keep projects commercially on track. Working closely with our Commercial Manager and operational teams, you’ll support a range of commercial activities, including:
- Assisting with project estimates and obtaining supplier quotations
- Helping to set up and monitor project budgets and job costs
- Measuring completed works and preparing contract valuations
- Monitoring actual costs against project estimates and completed works
- Supporting regular financial forecasts covering contract value, costs, profit and cash flow
- Helping identify and manage project risks, opportunities and contract changes
- Supporting the commercial management of suppliers, including payment applications and invoices
- Tracking project performance and preparing KPI and commercial reports
- Attending customer, contract and project performance meetings
- Developing your understanding of contract terms and commercial administration
- Using Procore to support accurate project budgeting and job costing.

We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn and develop a career in Quantity Surveying.
You’ll need to be comfortable working with numbers and commercial information, with good attention to detail and an organised approach. Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who can build positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
You don't need to know everything from day one. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, commercial curiosity and willingness to develop.
