A UK Top 50 full service law firm is seeking a forward thinking senior Residential Real Estate lawyer to lead and grow its Bristol team. With over 700 legal professionals across seven offices and one of the largest residential real estate practices in the UK, this is a rare opportunity to build a new team within a nationally recognised, award winning practice. The Residential Real Estate team operates with a unified "one team" culture across all offices, delivering exceptional client service and fostering a collaborative, supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a key strategic role in expanding the firm's presence in the Bristol market while contributing to the wider leadership of the national team.
The Role
- Leadership & Team Development
- Establish and grow a new Bristol based residential real estate team
- Manage recruitment, performance, resourcing, compliance and financial oversight
- Instil the firm's culture, values and brand signatures across the team
- Act as the first point of escalation for client feedback and complaints
- Oversee training and development of junior team members
- Contribute to the core management group shaping strategy and employee experience across all offices
- Client Work & Technical Excellence
- Act for high net worth individuals, developers, corporate entities and property professionals
- Provide clear, tailored advice on complex residential property matters
- Maintain high technical standards and ensure efficient, profitable delivery
- Build and nurture relationships with high end property finders, estate agents and brokers
- Business Development & Growth
- Actively develop new and existing client relationships
- Build a strong market presence and drive the expansion of the Bristol offering
- Explore new work types and diversification opportunities
- Lead and contribute to pitches, networking events, publications and profile raising initiatives
- Drive cross selling opportunities across the firm
- Strategic Contribution
- Play a key role in the strategic management of the national Residential Real Estate team
- Lead and support firm wide projects under the direction of the Partners
- Promote a positive, inclusive and high performance culture
- Support the firm's ESG, diversity and community commitments
Candidate Requirements
- Essential
- Solicitor with 8+ years PQE gained at a strong regional or City firm
- Recognised technical expert in residential property with experience handling high value conveyancing
- Demonstrable leadership experience with the ability to build and manage a team
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of profitable delivery
- Proven business development capability and established market presence
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships
- Strong risk management and compliance awareness
- Competent with Microsoft Office, time recording systems, digital dictation and open to adopting new technologies including AI
- Desirable
- A following or established network to support rapid team growth
- Experience leading high profile pitches or major client relationships
