A respected law firm in Somerset is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Probate Solicitor to join its Private Client department. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong technical knowledge and client care skills to manage a varied caseload and contribute to a supportive and dynamic team.

The Role

  • Managing a range of probate and estate administration matters, including:
    • Handling probate and estate administration cases from start to finish
    • Advising clients on wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, inheritance tax, and intestacy
    • Drafting and reviewing legal documents including wills and trust deeds
    • Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and other stakeholders
    • Preparing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
    • Ensuring compliance with legislation and SRA regulations
    • Maintaining high standards of client care and building long-term relationships
    • Supporting business development and networking initiatives

Candidate Requirements

  • 3+ years PQE in probate and estate administration (newly qualified candidates with relevant experience may be considered)
  • Strong technical and drafting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence in managing matters independently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
  • STEP qualification (or working towards) is desirable
