A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Tier 1 ranked Education team in Bath. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a high calibre client base, lead on complex matters, and contribute to the continued growth of a nationally recognised Education practice.
The Role
- You'll take a senior role within the Education team, managing a sophisticated caseload and contributing to strategic development.
- Responsibilities include:
- Leading on complex corporate and education M&A transactions
- Managing matters independently with strong financial discipline (time recording, billing, cost awareness)
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships to generate new and repeat work
- Driving business development through seminars, networking, pitches, and thought leadership
- Identifying new markets, service lines, and growth opportunities
- Ensuring high standards of service delivery, compliance, and professional conduct
- Working collaboratively across teams and contributing to a collegiate culture
- Staying up to date with legal developments and continuing professional development
Candidate Requirements
- This role is suited to an experienced lawyer with:
- Strong experience in corporate or education M&A
- Proven ability to supervise and develop junior colleagues
- A track record of proactive business development and revenue generation
- Excellent communication skills, including handling challenging conversations with confidence
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex projects independently
- High levels of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail
- A solutions focused, commercially aware mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high performing team
Desirable:
- Experience in Education Law and/or Charity Law
