A well established regional and national practice is seeking a Non Contentious Construction Associate (2-6 years PQE) to join its expanding Construction & Engineering team in Bath. You will support a wide range of development, infrastructure and energy projects across the UK, advising funders, developers, contractors and suppliers throughout the supply chain.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high value projects while developing your technical skills, sector knowledge and professional network. Associates are also encouraged to take an active role in marketing and business development to support team growth and build your personal brand.
The Role
- Providing non contentious construction support across a broad range of projects, including:
- Managing construction transactions and project deliverables
- Advising on JCT and NEC contracts, security packages and due diligence
- Supporting development, infrastructure and energy sector projects
- Building credibility with clients and managing expectations around risk, options and timescales
- Developing sector and market knowledge and demonstrating expertise
- Growing internal and external networks
- Supporting the team's profile through networking, publications and seminars
- Managing delegated aspects of projects and meeting deadlines
- Providing guidance to junior team members
- Ensuring clear communication with senior and junior colleagues
- Supporting budget management and efficient use of resources
- Staying informed on legal and sector developments
Candidate Requirements
- This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor with:
- 2-6 years PQE in non contentious construction
- Strong familiarity with JCT and NEC standard forms
- Experience with construction security packages and due diligence
- Confidence running transactions with appropriate supervision
- Excellent client management and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for construction, engineering and the built environment
- A collaborative, team focused approach
- Interest in developing sector expertise (real estate, energy, utilities, infrastructure, health/social care) - desirable
- Ability to mentor junior lawyers - desirable
