This multi-office Westcountry practice are seeking a meticulous and client-focused Probate Solicitor to join their thriving Private Client team. Based in Taunton, you'll handle a broad mix of probate matters from estate administration and inheritance tax to wills and estate planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with solid technical expertise and a passion for helping clients navigate sensitive legal issues with confidence and care.
The Role
- Manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration files from start to finish
- Advising on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, inheritance tax, and intestacy
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents including wills and trust deeds
- Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and other stakeholders
- Preparing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and SRA standards
- Delivering high-quality client care and fostering strong relationships
- Supporting business development and networking initiatives
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales (ideally 3+ years PQE, but all levels considered)
- Solid experience in probate and estate administration
- Excellent communication and client-handling skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Confidence working independently and managing deadlines
- STEP qualification (or working towards) is a plus
