A respected and forward-thinking law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor with 5+ years' post-qualification experience in Clinical Negligence to join its established team in Newport. This is a leadership role offering the opportunity to shape departmental strategy, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the firm's wider business goals - all within a flexible hybrid working model.
The Role
- Managing a caseload of complex clinical negligence matters
- Leading and developing fee-earners and support staff within the department
- Supporting the firm’s business plan and contributing to strategic initiatives
- Attending external business development events (target: 1 per month)
- Participating in management meetings and subcommittees
- Strengthening client relationships and introducing new business
- Ensuring a safe and productive working environment
Candidate Requirements
- Admission to the Solicitors Roll or Institute for Paralegals
- 5+ years PQE in clinical negligence or related litigation
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and professional standards
- Confidence in balancing competing priorities and managing conflict
- Understanding of health and safety responsibilities in the workplace
Desirable
- Willingness to work outside normal office hours when reasonably required
