Private Client Associate Solicitor
Location: Cheltenham
A rewarding role for a lawyer with a passion for supporting older and vulnerable individuals has arisen with a Top 100 law firm. This opportunity sits within a specialist Private Client team dedicated to safeguarding the welfare and rights of those affected by conditions such as dementia, learning disabilities, brain injuries and mental health issues.

What You\’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day will include:

  • Meeting clients in care settings or the community
  • Liaising with families, care providers, and other professionals
  • Overseeing clients\’ financial affairs (including benefits and funding assessments)
  • Advising on care plans, researching appropriate services and solutions
  • Drafting and managing Court of Protection applications (e.g. deputyship, statutory wills, trustee changes, gifts)
  • Preparing Wills and LPAs
  • Annual reporting on deputyship cases

You\’ll also contribute to:

  • Business development, content creation and event planning
  • Supporting junior team members

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3-6 years PQE with strong experience in Court of Protection and deputyship matters
  • A clear understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014 and professional deputy standards
  • Confidence in handling sensitive, often complex situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills tailored to varied audiences
