A well established and highly respected regional firm is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor at Salaried Partner level to join its Family team in Poole. This senior appointment has arisen due to the retirement of a long standing Partner and offers the opportunity to lead a thriving practice within modern, centrally located offices. The firm is known for its supportive culture, strong values and commitment to delivering high quality legal services across Dorset and Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior practitioner to take ownership of a high value caseload while playing a key role in the continued growth of the Family department.
The Role
- You will lead the Family team in Poole, managing a complex and high value caseload with a focus on:
- Financial remedy and high value matrimonial matters
- General matrimonial work, including divorce and separation
- Advocacy and regular court attendance
- Supervising and supporting a small team of lawyers and support staff
- Overseeing file management, quality standards and team performance
- Attending local offices, client meetings, court hearings and networking events
- Promoting and developing the Family practice within the region
The role requires regular on site attendance, with the option to work from home one day per week.
Candidate Requirements
- This role is suited to a senior Family Solicitor who can demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in high value matrimonial and financial remedy matters
- Strong advocacy skills and confidence attending court hearings
- Proven ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers and support staff
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence in networking and business development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and discretion
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Ability to commute within one hour of Poole
- Own transport
