A well established regional law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join its expanding team in Poole. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior level candidate to take on a broad mix of contentious and non contentious work, with strong prospects for progression and long term career development. The role is primarily office based, with the option of one day per week working from home following probation.

The Role

  • Work as part of the Corporate and Commercial team, alongside another Employment Law Solicitor, managing a varied caseload of employment matters.
  • Drafting employment contracts, policies, and handbooks.
  • Handling disputes, unfair dismissal, and discrimination cases.
  • Providing HR advisory support on disciplinaries, grievances, and redundancies.
  • Advising on employment law aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence.
  • Advising on TUPE and business transfers.
  • Delivering employment law training sessions for clients.
  • Managing your own caseload efficiently and meeting fee earning targets.
  • Supporting business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and support staff where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with firm procedures and maintaining high professional standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • 5+ years PQE in Employment Law.
  • Strong technical knowledge across both contentious and non contentious matters.
  • Experience drafting contracts and resolving employer/employee disputes.
  • Working knowledge of the Employment Tribunal system.
  • Experience supervising junior team members (advantageous).
  • Proven ability to meet fee earning, time recording, and billing targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and marketing abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload while working collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of initiative, reliability, and professional integrity.
  • Own transport.
