A respected and forward-thinking law firm is seeking a Family Solicitor/Associate with 2-5 years' post-qualification experience to join its established team in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven legal professional to manage a varied caseload, contribute to departmental growth, and develop leadership skills within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
The Role
- Managing a caseload of family law matters including divorce, financial remedies, and children work
- Supporting fee-earners and contributing to departmental initiatives
- Liaising with clients, counsel, and other professionals
- Attending external business development events (target: 1 per month)
- Participating in team meetings and firm-wide projects
- Strengthening client relationships and promoting the firm's reputation
- Ensuring a safe and productive working environment
Candidate Requirements
- 2-5 years PQE in family law
- Strong technical and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence in managing matters independently
- High attention to detail and professional standards
- Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
- Understanding of health and safety responsibilities in the workplace
Desirable
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues or support staff
