I am working with a long‑established and well‑respected regional law firm who are seeking a friendly, organised and proactive Private Client Secretary to join their busy team in Malmesbury. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting a fast‑paced Private Client department within a welcoming and professional environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Audio typing, preparing and amending draft documents, and providing dictation support to other offices when required.
  • Making and receiving telephone calls, dealing with clients in person, by phone and via email, and confidently handling enquiries when the lawyer is unavailable.
  • Making appointments and assisting with client queries.
  • Photocopying, filing, opening files, preparing completed files for storage and carrying out general office duties.
  • Assisting other members of the Private Client Support team and liaising with colleagues as needed.
  • Liaising with Accounts to obtain cheques, printouts or other documents.
  • Providing reception cover as and when required.

Skills required:

  • Fast and accurate typing.
  • Strong presentation of letters and documentation.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Professional and confident telephone manner.
  • Ability to deal effectively with clients, intermediaries and other contacts.
  • Competent use of IT systems, including Case Manager and other firm‑wide software.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
