Chadwick Nott are delighted to be representing a leading national law firm that is looking to recruit a Planning Solicitor of 3 years+ PQE to join their growing and highly ranked team. Their client base is inviable and includes residential and mixedâuse developers, contractors, charities, investors, funders, corporate occupiers, local authorities, the NHS, and Government bodies.
Day to day responsibilities will involve:
- Advising on planning permission strategies and negotiations for statutory agreements.
- Conducting due diligence for the planning aspects of real estate, funding, and corporate transactions.
- Providing guidance on special protection areas, Assets of Community Value, and Village Greens.
- Assisting with risk management by auditing planning application documents, handling appeals, judicial reviews, enforcement, and highwaysârelated matters.
- Demonstrating solid knowledge of EIA, CIL, and GLA planning.
You will manage your own caseload while collaborating with senior colleagues on developmentâfocused matters. Business development and networking will also be key aspects of your role. The position is based in Cardiff, with hybrid working arrangements (2â3 days inâoffice weekly).
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years PQE with strong technical expertise in planning and highways law. Experience of drafting complex agreements such as s.106 agreements, highway and land development agreements is required. Exceptional communication and drafting skills are essential.
