A leading regional law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury specialist to head its Personal Injury (PI) department. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the direction of a growing PI practice while managing a high value caseload of serious injury matters.
The Role
- Leading and developing the Personal Injury team, including managing a team of 12, with 6‑7 direct reports, ensuring high standards of service and case management.
- Driving business development and marketing initiatives to grow the PI offering across multiple office locations.
- Recruiting, mentoring, and developing team members to ensure strong performance and alignment with strategic goals.
- Handling a caseload of serious and complex injury claims, including brain injury matters.
- Overseeing financial performance, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Working closely with senior leadership to contribute to firm‑wide strategy and cross team collaboration.
- Promoting a supportive, collaborative culture and sharing best practice across the Injury Services division.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience at Head of Department level or in a comparable senior leadership role.
- Extensive expertise in Personal Injury law, with a strong track record in high‑value and complex cases (brain injury experience preferred).
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to support and develop a team of fee earners.
- Commercial mindset and confidence in business development and client relationship management.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes for clients while nurturing a high performing team.
- Values collaboration, professionalism, and a forward‑thinking approach.
