The Role
- As Head of Corporate, you will be responsible for building a stand-alone corporate division from the ground up.
- Establishing and leading the Corporate Department as an independent business unit with full P&L responsibility.
- Setting strategy, structure, and financial targets for the department.
- Managing a caseload of high-value corporate matters including M&A, restructuring, joint ventures, and shareholder agreements.
- Driving business development and expanding the firm’s corporate client base across regional and national markets.
- Contributing to firm-wide strategic planning and cross-referral initiatives.
- Mentoring junior lawyers and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Representing the firm at industry events, panels, and networking forums.
Candidate Requirements
- This role is suited to a solicitor with 8+ years PQE in corporate law (England & Wales qualified).
- Proven experience in leading or building a corporate legal team or department.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated success in client development and operational oversight.
- Technical expertise across a broad range of corporate transactions.
- An existing client following or network would be highly advantageous.
Working Arrangements
The firm offers a hybrid working model with flexibility and autonomy. A strong office presence is expected for team leadership, with occasional travel to other offices across South Wales.
