A long established and highly regarded Somerset practice is looking for a confident Family Law Practitioner to step into a pivotal role within its expanding Family Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied caseload, support an experienced fee earner, and help shape the department's long term direction.

The work spans childcare, financial matters, and matrimonial cases, with clients now coming from a wider area including Bath, Bristol, Wells, and rural high net worth communities. You'll be part of a small, friendly team (two fee earners plus support staff), working in a high street, client focused environment where face to face service still matters. Hybrid working is available, but the role remains hands on and community based.

With senior team members retiring and a busy caseload ready to pick up, there is genuine scope for progression, including future leadership and partnership opportunities.

Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor or experienced CILEx Legal Executive with litigation rights (or ready to apply), ideally with 3+ years post qualification experience.
  • Comfortable managing files independently, supervising trainees or junior colleagues, and contributing to the department's growth and outreach.
  • Strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Enjoy working directly with clients, highly organised, and bring a proactive, collaborative approach to both casework and team development.
