A highly respected regional law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Knowledge Lawyer to join its established Employment team in Exeter. This is a part time opportunity (3-4 days per week) to play a pivotal role in supporting a top ranked department known for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused employment advice across the public and private sectors.
The Employment team advises businesses, public sector bodies and senior executives on the full spectrum of employment law, including:
- Contracts, policies and HR documentation
- Workplace disputes and disciplinary matters
- Discrimination
- TUPER
- Redundancy
- Complex employment litigation
In this non-fee earning role, you will ensure the team remains fully up to date with legal developments, market trends and best practice. Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing and maintaining internal guidance notes, protocols, precedents and templates
- Delivering regular legal updates and training sessions
- Monitoring legislative and case law developments
- Supporting fee earners with technical queries
- Working closely with the wider Knowledge Management team
Your work will directly enhance the team's ability to deliver technically excellent, commercially sound advice to clients.
This role is suited to a qualified Employment lawyer with:
- 6+ years' PQE (flexible for strong candidates)
- Strong technical expertise across employment law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, organised and detail focused approach
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels
- Confidence delivering training and influencing internal stakeholders
You will be known for your positive, solutions focused attitude and your ability to translate complex legal developments into clear, practical guidance.
