A well established and expanding regional law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its growing Litigation Department in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a developing practice area within a supportive, friendly, and award‑winning firm that has seen significant growth in recent years.
The Role- Managing a varied caseload of employment matters
- Taking ownership of client relationships and delivering high quality advice
- Growing the employment practice through proactive business development
- Leading on marketing initiatives and generating new sources of work
- Working closely with colleagues across the Litigation Department
- Spending at least three days per week in the Exeter office (hybrid working available after probation)
- Travelling to other offices for client meetings and marketing events when required
- Contributing to the firm's strategic growth and development plans
- 3‑5 years' post qualification experience in employment law
- Qualification as a Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with full practising rights
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage matters independently
- A proactive approach to business development and client generation
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Willingness to learn additional areas of litigation (for candidates with higher PQE)
- A track record of client following or BD success (advantageous)
- Drive, initiative, and enthusiasm to grow a developing practice area
