A leading national firm is seeking an Associate (4+ years PQE) to join its highly respected Trusts & Estates team, based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a long established Private Wealth practice known for advising families over generations and handling complex national and international assets.

The Role

  • You'll manage a varied and high quality caseload across the full spectrum of private client work, including:
    • Wills, succession planning and estate structuring
    • Trust creation, administration and advisory work
    • Probate and estate administration
    • Tax and tax risk planning
    • Advising on heritage, cultural, art and other unique assets
    • Wealth preservation strategies for high net worth individuals, business owners, trustees, executors, farmers and landowners
    • Building strong relationships with clients and professional advisers
    • Taking early responsibility for files with appropriate support

Candidate Requirements

  • This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
    • 4+ years PQE within a successful Private Wealth or Trusts & Estates team
    • Strong technical knowledge across wills, trusts, probate and tax
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build long term client relationships
    • Confidence managing complex matters independently
    • A proactive, ambitious and self motivated approach
    • Strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills
    • Natural enthusiasm for client contact, networking and business development
    • Resilience and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
