A respected and forward thinking law firm is seeking an Employment Associate with 1-5 years' post qualification experience to join its dynamic and highly regarded Employment team in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a collaborative, agile and people focused environment that values fresh thinking, quality work and long term client relationships.
The Role
- Delivering high quality employment law advice and managing a varied caseload, including:
- Advising on employment status, rights, contracts, handbooks, redundancy and discrimination
- Providing commercial and sensitive HR support to clients and in house HR teams
- Managing Employment Tribunal claims from ACAS Early Conciliation through to appeal
- Representing clients in Tribunals, mediations and other dispute resolution forums
- Conducting legal research and providing strategic advice
- Supporting corporate transactions and cross departmental matters
- Drafting articles, staying up to date with employment law developments and advising clients proactively
- Working with PSLs and Paralegals to refine policies, contracts and templates
- Participating in business development, attending events and strengthening client relationships
Candidate Requirements
- 1-5 years' PQE in employment law
- Strong technical knowledge of UK employment legislation and case law
- Experience handling complex employment matters and Tribunal work
- Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills
- Confidence managing a varied caseload independently
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach
- Enthusiasm for contributing to team growth and business development
