This is an excellent opportunity to join a nationally recognised practice known for combining high quality, technically strong work with a genuinely supportive and collaborative culture.The team advises a broad mix of clients, from local SMEs through to national and international businesses and senior executives, across the full spectrum of employment matters including contentious tribunal work, strategic advisory projects and day to day HR issues. The role can be tailored to offer pure employment work or a blend of employment and immigration.The TeamYou will join a well structured and growing regional team comprising partners, senior associates, associates, solicitors, legal assistants, a consultant, a paralegal and a PSL. The wider national employment group includes approximately 40 specialists across multiple offices, offering strong support, supervision and cross office collaboration.The RoleYou will manage your own caseload and work closely with partners and senior lawyers across a broad range of employment matters. Responsibilities include:Managing a varied caseload with appropriate supervisionTaking client instructions and ensuring full understanding of expectationsDeveloping client relationship skills and building relationships with smaller clientsDrafting policies, handbooks, contracts and employment documentationAdvising on disciplinary, grievance, TUPE and discrimination mattersPreparing and progressing advocacy matters and negotiating appropriate solutionsAssisting with settlement agreements and termination negotiationsEnsuring compliance with SRA principles, risk management and file review processesResponding appropriately to client concerns or complaintsSupporting marketing initiatives, drafting articles and attending networking eventsSpotting cross selling opportunities and building an internal referral networkContributing to BD projects and raising personal profileSupporting junior fee earners and delegating tasks where appropriateWorking flexibly and collaboratively across the wider teamManaging time recording, WIP and billing effectivelyAligning personal objectives with departmental strategyContributing ideas for business improvements and innovationCandidate RequirementsThis role is suited to a Solicitor with:NQ-5 years' PQE (must have completed at least one seat in Employment)Ability to manage own files with minimal supervisionStrong client management skills and excellent service deliveryStrong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectivelyCommercial awareness and a proactive approachInterest in developing expertise in employment and/or immigrationBenefits26.5-31.5 days' holiday per yearHoliday buying and selling schemeHealthcare cash plan / private medical insuranceLife assurancePension schemeCycle to Work schemeSeason ticket loanDiscretionary profit and performance related bonusHybrid workingEmployee Assistance ProgrammeEnhanced family leaveRecruitment referral bonusGroup income protectionRegular salary reviewsCareer DevelopmentYou will benefit from a transparent Career Development Framework, mentoring programmes, personal development courses and clear progression pathways.
