A well established national commercial law firm is seeking an Employment Solicitor (2-4 PQE) to join its expanding Employment team in Bristol. The department advises a broad range of employers across both public and private sectors and offers strong opportunities for progression within a supportive, collaborative environment.
The position is based in the Bristol office, working with senior lawyers across a varied client base. The work includes a balanced mix of contentious and non contentious matters, such as:
- Managing your own caseload and supporting senior colleagues on more complex matters
- Advising on employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance and capability processes
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and procedures
- Advising on discrimination, equalities obligations and general HR queries
- Handling Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings and witness statements
- Advising on TUPE, restructures, redundancy processes and settlement negotiations
- Providing training to clients on employment law topics
- Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships
Candidate Requirements
- 2-4 years PQE in employment law
- Experience across both contentious and advisory work
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Confidence handling client matters independently where appropriate
- A collaborative approach and interest in developing client relationships
- Experience in any sector (public, private or third sector) is welcome
