We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Court of Protection Solicitor (3-5 PQE) to join a well established Court of Protection team in Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive environment, managing a varied caseload and contributing to the care of vulnerable clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior members of the team with substantial case files, including contentious deputyship matters
- Manage a caseload involving Property and Affairs Deputyships, Trust management, tax affairs, accounts and Court of Protection applications
- Work closely with brain injured and vulnerable clients, ensuring their financial and personal needs are met
- Draft Statutory Wills, Personal Injury Trusts, Welfare Deputyship applications and related documentation
- Maintain regular client contact and attend client locations when required
- Supervise and delegate tasks to paralegals and trainees
- Apply professional standards (SRA and OPG Deputy Standards) and maintain strong organisational practices
- Meet billing targets and comply with departmental procedures
- Maintain up to date legal knowledge and meet CPD requirements
About You
- Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx Legal Executive with 3-5 years' PQE in Court of Protection work
- Strong technical understanding of Court of Protection law and practice
- Excellent client care skills and the ability to build strong relationships
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage your own workload
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving ability
- Competent in using case management systems and IT software
- Able to prioritise effectively and work well under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable to departmental needs
