I am working with a long‑established and well‑respected regional law firm who are seeking a friendly, organised and proactive Conveyancing Secretary to join their Residential Property team in Chippenham. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting a busy conveyancing department within a welcoming and professional environment.
The role
- Assisting with residential property transactions, including sales, purchases and re‑mortgages, following the firm's procedures and guidelines
- Providing support to the conveyancing lawyer, including audio typing, preparing and amending documents
- Copying, scanning and filing post and other documentation
- Undertaking all necessary tasks relating to the residential conveyancing process
- Using residential property case management forms and standard letters
- Taking accurate telephone messages and passing information to the appropriate person
- Liaising with the Accounts department to obtain cheques and other financial documents as required
- Providing reception cover and carrying out reception duties when needed
Skills
- Good working knowledge of freehold residential conveyancing
- Accurate typing skills
- Strong sense of layout and presentation for letters and documents
- Good command of English grammar
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Ability to deal effectively with clients
- Strong organisational skills, including proactive diary and file management
Qualifications / Experience
Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
